The series was inspired by the darkness of the opal gemstone and the way its spectacular play-of-colour glistens in a variety of patterns throughout the stone. The neck pieces in the Opal Series follow this trend of splashes of colourful patterns on a black background and these patterns of colour are attained through the use of colourful fabric on the neck piece.
